The HID multiCLASS SE RK40 Smart Card Reader is a wall switch-style access control reader with an integrated keypad designed for secure multi-factor authentication. Supporting Seos®, iCLASS SE®, iCLASS®, MIFARE® Classic, MIFARE® DESFire® EV1, and HID Mobile Access, it provides flexible credential authentication for cards, fobs, and mobile devices.
The HID multiCLASS SE RK40 Smart Card Reader is part of HID's iCLASS SE platform, delivering an adaptable and interoperable access control solution for organizations requiring enhanced door security. Designed for standard wall switch mounting, the RK40 combines contactless smart card technology with an integrated keypad to provide multi-factor authentication. It supports a broad range of credential technologies and form factors, including cards, key fobs, and mobile devices, making it easy to support both current and future access control deployments.
Built with HID's Secure Identity Object (SIO®) data model, the multiCLASS SE RK40 provides an additional layer of encryption to help protect credential data and strengthen overall system security. The reader supports Seos, iCLASS SE, iCLASS, MIFARE Classic, and MIFARE DESFire EV1 credentials and can be configured to support HID Mobile Access, enabling secure mobile credentials on smartphones and other smart devices. Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) support provides secure communication between the reader and access control controller.
The HID multiCLASS SE RK40 is well suited for commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, government offices, and enterprise environments where stronger identity verification is required.
